Stories of Change

We Stories opens up conversations about race between parents and children AND we help parents to reflect on what they learned about race growing up. As they reflect, they often want to talk with others, and explore their own racial identity and journey out loud. As people get more comfortable with that personal exploration, and gain a deeper understanding of the history that has brought us to our current reality, they are then often ready and eager to engage in the larger issues about race that the region is wrestling with — because while they once felt uncomfortable talking about race, they now feel uncomfortable standing on the sideline.
